But… what about continue studying a Master or specialization in the ELT area?
Nowadays, graduate programs (masters degrees) are not just a challenge or a way to “fill gaps” that were not covered during previous studies. They are not designed as a compensatory level of deficiencies academic, nor as an interest in intellectual development for the confirmation of missing disciplines.
These programs are (or should be) considered as a goal to reach, as usual administrative dynamics induces productivity and performance evaluation (Esquivel 2002).
People who upgrade their work skills and knowledge not only can keep up with the latest technologies and business techniques, but they also can receive other benefits, such as the training needed to climb the corporate ladder and to realize additional career goals.
Graduate studies are an important area to convergence, export and exchange of scientific and technological knowledge, mainly through its graduates and agency programs to the extent that these are consolidated.
So, how important it would be for us as future teachers?
What can be the advantages of having a graduate program in the UADY?
What characteristics it should have/develop?
